| Long Term Rentals | |
If you're planning to stay in Rio de Janeiro for longer than a few nights, you may consider renting an apartment. There is a number of real estate agencies dedicated to tracking down long-term rentals for foreigners and it's a fairly straighforward affair. Usually, you will pay a small deposit (Warning: the payement must be in Reais. Do not sign or accept any contract in US dollars and neither in Euros.) along with the price of the rental up front, sign away your life and you're all set. Although most of the agencies are in Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon, They can help find flats in other areas of town if you want to get off the beaten path. As is the case of hotels, the price of apartement reantals rises considerably during the carnival and New year's celebrations though there's usually somenthing available. | ![]() |
