* * * Nightlife in Rio de Janeiro * * *

Rios vibrant dance scene features DJs spinning a wide variety of beats from house and hip-hop to more uniquely Brazilian combinations such as electrosamba and bossa jazz in addition to Brazilian DJs, Rio attracts a handful of vinyl gurus from New York, Los Angeles and London to spin at bigger affairs. Flyers advertising dance parties and raves (pronouced hah-vees) can be found in some of the boutiques in Ipanema and Leblon and in the surf shops in Galeria River, near Praia do Arpoador. Most clubs give a discount if you have got a flyer.
